Dr. Steven Walker graduated as Valedictorian from Chesterton Senior High School and pursued a degree in biology and pre-dentistry at Purdue University before attending dental school at Indiana University School of Dentistry, where he earned a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree with distinction in 1981. He has received advanced training in TMJ Treatment and Implant Restoration, and he continues to improve his knowledge and skills through regular Dental, Business, Ethics, CPR, and Pharmacology courses. Dr. Walker belongs to a number of professional organizations, including:

- Indiana Dental Association
- Northwest Indiana Dental Society
- Laporte Dental Society (Associate Member)
- Phi Beta Kappa
- Chesterton-Porter Rotary – past president, officer
- Northwest Indiana Conservation Club – former trustee
Dr. Walker is committed to providing gentle dental care to all of his patients, listening to their concerns and questions, and offering a variety of solutions for their dental needs. He and his staff enjoy caring for their patients of all ages and helping them restore and maintain their dental health throughout their lives. Sharing a smile and a few stories is an added bonus. Dr. Walker married his high-school sweetheart, Carol, with whom he has four children and two dogs. He has been a practicing dentist in his hometown of Chesterton, Indiana, for 35 years. In his spare time, Dr. Walker enjoys music, gardening, forestry, hiking, hunting, camping, fishing, and canoeing, and has received the “50 Miler” Boy Scout troop canoeing award.
